Anthony Hicks employs dedicated teams of conservation craftsmen to complete structural restoration and repairs and non structural repairs on a wide range of timber framed buildings. Their attention to detail and meticulous methods of repair have led to Anthony Hicks unrivalled reputation for successfully retaining the integrity of many outstanding historic buildings.
The initial part of the process of renovation includes an on-site assessment highlighting the most appropriate method of repair and restoration for each heritage timber building. Both modern and traditional repair and restoration methods and materials are used where appropriate, including brickwork, wall cladding and traditional infill panels. Replacing defective timbers, profiled flitch plating, timber to timber splicing and other techniques are also used to a high and exacting standard to ensure the integrity of the building.
Anthony Hicks is also a major player in Lottery funded regeneration projects, and has a long and successful history of working with local authorities and conservation officers to achieve the best possible results on every historic building restoration and repair project.

“ I have used Anthony Hicks three times now on projects and I have recommended them to several friends who have also used their services. There are many people professing to build this type of structure and the magazines are littered with such adverts. However none of them in my opinion match the design and finish that Anthony Hicks can provide. I definitely think they use more timber and bigger sizes in the construction. The last building was almost entirely constructed without any metal fittings on the frame as it would have been hundreds of years ago . I am now looking for a site for a new build and I will be speaking to Anthony Hicks in the future” Mr & Mrs Andrews
“ The finished product is testament to the enthusiasm and professional attitude that is Anthony Hicks, from the start stages of design through to the fabrication and build of the oak frame and associated works the project was carried out with exceptional care and attention to detail and I cannot thank the team enough for beautiful home that we now enjoy.” Mr & Mrs Mason, Nr Maidstone, Kent
“ We took a long time to find the right company to build our dream but it was worth it, "we found the best"” Mr & Mrs Duggleby
