Handcrafted Timber Field Shelters Built to Last

Handcrafted Timber Field Shelters Built to Last

Every field shelter we build is constructed on site by our own team, using carefully selected timbers and traditional framing techniques. From the uprights and bracing through to the roof structure, cladding and finishes, each element is measured, cut and fitted with the same care we apply to our oak frame and heritage joinery work. The result is a robust, weatherproof timber field shelter that is genuinely built to last, not flat-packed or thrown together to a standard template.

Bespoke Field Shelters Tailored to Your Land

Bespoke Field Shelters Tailored to Your Land

No two paddocks, smallholdings or country estates are the same, so every field shelter we design is tailor-made for the site it sits within. We work with you on size, orientation, roof pitch, internal layout, feed storage and door placement, and can integrate your shelter with other bespoke garden structures such as oak verandas, oak gazebos and oak stables. Whether you need a simple single bay or a multi-stall shelter with tack storage, the design is built around your property and your day-to-day routine.

Wooden Field Shelters For Rural and Heritage Properties

Wooden Field Shelters For Rural and Heritage Properties

Many of the properties we work on are listed country estates, traditional farms and period homes across Kent and Sussex where a standard off-the-shelf shelter simply will not do. Drawing on our experience in listed building restoration and heritage construction, we build wooden field shelters that respect the character of their surroundings, using sympathetic materials, honest detailing and finishes that weather in beautifully over time alongside historic barns and outbuildings.

A Considered Approach From Start to Finish

A Considered Approach From Start to Finish

1. Initial Requirements Discussion
We begin with a free initial consultation to understand your land and what you need from your field shelter, whether that is winter shelter for horses, a dry feeding area for cattle or a simple store for a smallholding in Kent or Sussex.

2. Site Visit and Assessment
We then visit your site to assess ground conditions, access, and any planning or conservation factors that may affect where and how the shelter can be built.

3. Design & Materials Selection
Before any work begins, we agree the design, dimensions, roof style, cladding and timber specification with you in detail, so you know exactly what you are getting and how the finished shelter will sit within the landscape.

4. Installation
Our in-house craftsmen then carry out every stage of the build, from groundworks and foundations through to framing, roofing and cladding, working cleanly and tidily around your animals, paddocks and existing outbuildings.

5. Final Review & Aftercare
Once the field shelter is complete, we walk through the finished structure with you to confirm everything is as expected, and remain on hand afterwards for any questions, adjustments or future work on your property.

What materials do you use for your field shelters?

Every field shelter we build is made from carefully selected timbers and finished to suit the character of your land and property.
